This month we have an article from Mausam Devi, one of the women who make an income from stitching Saukyam pads. We are grateful to all who have supported the project by purchasing them so far, some as Christmas presents for family members!

‘My name is Mausam Devi. I live in Ratanpur village with my husband, mother-in-law, and my children. Amma had earlier provided free tailoring training in our village to women and girls. Some of them are today making Saukhyam pads. I help with stitching the pads and I also teach these women to make pads. In our village itself, this way we all now have a means for earning an income. This income helps us with planning a better future for our children and our families. For instance, one of the women was able to send her daughter for nursing studies. Another was able to complete the half-finished home that they had lived in for years. We also feel very happy that the pads made by us are benefitting so many people. And especially benefitting our Mother Earth. My prayer is that Amma gives us this opportunity to serve in this way always.’
